Khosi Twala: The Queen of Hearts

Khosi Twala is the kind of woman who defies expectations. From the moment she burst onto the scene as the winner of the first-ever Big Brother Titans, she has rewritten the narrative of what it means to be a modern African icon. Her story reflects resilience, ambition, and an undeniable connection with the people who admire her. In just over a year, Khosi has transformed from a journalist with big dreams into a multi-faceted star—a businesswoman, philanthropist, media personality, and the most successful South African on the Social Charts by Top Charts Africa.

Her journey has been far from ordinary. Despite facing challenges and skepticism, she has risen above it all with grace, turning her newfound fame into a platform to inspire, uplift, and connect. Yet, for all her achievements, Khosi remains deeply grounded. She speaks with the warmth of someone who hasn’t forgotten where she comes from and the clarity of someone who knows exactly where she’s going. Sitting down with her, it’s easy to see why she’s captured the hearts of so many. Her story is about using every opportunity to build a legacy that will last for generations.

In this exclusive cover story, Khosi opens up about her life after Big Brother Titans, the challenges of overnight fame, her dreams for the future, and the unbreakable bond she shares with her fans. This is the story of a woman who’s just getting started.

“It’s surreal,” Khosi says, recounting her journey since winning Big Brother Titans. “I went from being a regular girl working as a journalist to becoming a continental icon.” The show not only elevated her profile but also gave her a platform to inspire millions across Africa. Winning Big Brother Titans catapulted her into a new reality, but Khosi is quick to acknowledge that the transition wasn’t always smooth. “I went through quite a lot after leaving the house. Nothing could ever prepare you for overnight success, even though it wasn’t necessarily overnight. Some people didn’t believe I deserved a seat at the table because, according to them, I hadn’t worked hard enough to earn it.” She adds with a smile, “I never wanted to be a superstar, quite frankly—I just want to make money, provide for my family, and make my Khosi Reigns proud. Because if we’re honest, nobody owes you anything, not even a lousy hello.”

And yet, despite the odds, Khosi has carved out her place in the limelight. Her dominance on the Social Charts by Top Charts Africa is no small feat—she’s officially the best-performing South African ever. The secret? A connection with her fans that feels almost sacred. “It’s incredible, and it still shocks me,” she says, visibly moved. “One of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is, ‘I do my best because I’m counting on you counting on me.’ That’s exactly how I feel about my Khosi Reigns. They’ve been a significant part of my success. They made me, I am them, and they are me. Always and forever.”

Beyond her digital influence, Khosi has turned her passions into impactful ventures. As the CEO of Active Lifestyle, she champions fitness and wellness, striving to make health accessible to those from all backgrounds. “Health is wealth,” she explains. “I’ve always wanted to help people that look like me and share the same background as me understand that going to the gym and looking good is futile if it doesn’t lead to a habit that creates a long, healthy life. I want to inspire people to do better in terms of taking care of their well-being. I look forward to seeing Active Lifestyle become a legacy that will live on and on.”

Working with Khosi Twala has been nothing short of a joy. From the moment we reached out to her team, it was clear that she surrounds herself with professionals who reflect her own values—kindness, efficiency, and an undeniable sense of purpose. The entire process, from our initial communication to this moment right here, has been seamless, and that’s an attestation not only to her exceptional team but to Khosi herself. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel like you’ve known her for years, her warmth and authenticity shining through in every interaction. As our first-ever South African cover star, Khosi has set the bar high—not just because of her incredible accomplishments but because of how easy and rewarding it has been to work with her. She’s a true professional who approaches every opportunity with grace, making this milestone collaboration feel effortless and special.

Khosi’s philanthropic endeavors are equally impressive. Through her nonprofit, Good Deeds, Khosi uplifts those in need, guided by a deep-seated belief that life’s purpose lies in helping others. “I’ve always believed that my true calling in this life is to help and uplift others. My life feels empty and purposeless whenever I am not sharing a part of myself and what I have with others. I truly want to give hope. I remember when I was given hope once, and how easily that alone changed my life. I would like others to know that there is a God. He may not be walking among us, but He uses His people to touch lives.” She says passionately.

Her media domination continues as she talks about Khoffee with Khosi, which she sees as a stepping stone toward her dream of hosting a live audience program. “The concept of Khoffee with Khosi actually started when I was still in secondary school. I imagined myself sitting with iconic stars from all fields of life—politicians, artists, and media personalities—exchanging pensive encounters about life in general among other things. One of my role models has always been Oprah Winfrey. I was obsessed with her show, and I always thought the only time I would say I have made it in life is when I have my own show broadcasted on TV with a live audience. To be quite frank, I’m still chasing that dream, and I know that it’s just a matter of time until I live it out. Khoffee with Khosi was simply a stepping stone in the right direction. I think I’ve learned a lot from it, but most of all, I think I found my true voice without imitating any of my role models.”

One glance at Khosi Twala, and it’s clear she’s a woman who understands the power of style. Sophistication radiates from her effortlessly—she knows her body, embraces her individuality, and plays with prints in a way that feels both bold and timeless. Whether she’s dressed in elegant gowns, chic casuals or even a swimwsuit, Khosi has a way of embodying every outfit like a true queen, making it impossible not to be captivated by her presence.
Khosi credits her fashion choices as a reflection of her character. “When it comes to dressing up, I believe it says a lot about your character and how you want to be addressed. As they say, ‘Dress how you’d like to be addressed.’ So I think that plays a part in my fashion. However, if I’m being honest with you, I don’t think of myself as a fashion icon or fashionista for that matter. I like being sophisticated, elegant, and confident in whatever I wear.” She continues with a giggle “Oh and a little bit of sexiness never hurts.” When it comes to fashion, you know what the real ace up her sleeve is? “Oh definitely a good Wig…you can’t go wrong with a good Wig.” She laughs.

Her accolades in the entertainment industry are just as impressive as her style. She’s been nominated for—and won—several prestigious awards, yet she approaches them with a rare humility. “I appreciate all the recognition, but I don’t want it to get into my head. God has been good, and I understand that all that is given can also be taken away. I see these awards as markers of milestones, but most of all, they reflect the hard work of my Khosi Reigns.” She says softly.

As someone who has ventured into many fields, Khosi admits there’s one thing she still dreams of doing. “I would love to be a judge on a show like The Masked Singer. Something fun and light that shows a part of my personality.” And would she ever consider a return to Big Brother in an All-Stars season? She pauses, thinking. “I’d have to think long and hard, and it would have to be worth a lot. But I believe I had my chance and made the most of it. I’d be happier giving others a shot.”

“If I’m being honest, I just want to travel the world.” She says when asked about what we should expect from her in the next few years. She continues “But this time, I want to travel touching lives, volunteering in refugee camps in places like Rwanda, Sudan, and Chad.” She smiles, “I also want to see Active Lifestyle take over the continent. Each day, I lay a brick on brick, and someday, I’ll have something extraordinary to show for it.”

As our time with Khosi Twala comes to an end, one thing is abundantly clear, she is a force to be reckoned with. Khosi’s journey is a masterclass in turning opportunities into lasting impact. Yet, for all her success, she remains grounded, approachable, and driven by a genuine desire to uplift others.

Khosi’s story has inspired millions, and as she continues to build her empire, one brick at a time, it’s evident that she is only scratching the surface of her potential. As our first-ever South African cover star, she has set a standard for what it means to lead with purpose, connect with people, and shine with authenticity. Khosi Twala is the queen of hearts, and the world better be ready for all she’s yet to achieve.
