In the ever-evolving entertainment industry, few names have emerged as quickly and powerfully as Emmanuel Ankrah, the Ghanaian creative force better known as Drill. With his recent win of the prestigious NXT Honors Breakout Star Award, he’s making waves as both a photographer and videographer. But it was his unexpected journey to fame through Perfect Match Xtra Season 2 that truly catapulted him into the public eye.
At just 24 years old, Drill has already proven himself as a multi-talented creative. Whether he’s capturing breathtaking moments through his lens or navigating the complexities of reality TV, his story is a testament to the power of chasing your dreams.
Emmanuel’s journey is one of ambition, resilience, and an unwavering passion for creativity. “I’ve always been a creative soul,” he shares. “Videography and photography allow me to express myself in ways that words can’t. It’s my space to transcend boundaries and push my imagination to new limits.” Before stepping into the spotlight, he lived a simple life in Ghana with big dreams and an unstoppable drive. “I always knew the entertainment world was where I belonged,” he says. “So when the opportunity came knocking, I was ready.”

His rise to fame took an unexpected turn when he appeared on Perfect Match Xtra Season 2. Fans were instantly drawn to his chemistry with Rosey, and the two quickly became a fan-favorite couple. But love in the public eye is never easy. “Being in a relationship on a reality show comes with its challenges. Your every move is scrutinized, and there’s no hiding from opinions,” Emmanuel admits. “But having Rosey by my side, someone I deeply connect with, made it all the more manageable. We’ve communicated through it all, and I’m proud to say I made the right choice.” While the experience was intense, he credits the show with teaching him a lot about love and relationships. “I wouldn’t say reality TV changed my perspective, but it definitely magnified my views. I learned how to navigate conflicts and handle the complexities of truly caring for someone.”
Since his time on Perfect Match Xtra, his career has taken off. Winning the NXT Honors Breakout Star Award was a defining moment. “It wasn’t just about being the new guy, it was about cementing my place as the new guy,” he says. “It showed that I had made an impact, and for that, I’m truly grateful.” While reality TV often gets a bad rap for its drama, Emmanuel sees it as a blessing. “It introduced me to a wider audience, and I’m constantly learning and growing. I know that the path I’m on is the right one.”

As his star continues to rise, he’s got big plans for the future. “In the next five years, I see myself achieving great things,” he says with a confident smile. “The name ‘Drill’ won’t just be a name, it will be a brand. I have so many plans that I’m not yet ready to share, but trust me, the world will see. I’m all about unexpected explosions, and I’m just getting started.” His dream collaborations? “I’d love to work with Yvonne Nelson, Funke Akindele, Tyler Perry, 50 Cent, and Shonda Rhimes. Hollywood is something I’m open to, and I’m ready to collaborate with anyone who shares my vision.”
Photography and videography might be his main passions, but filmmaking is another creative avenue he’s eager to explore. “Filmmaking is another opportunity to stretch my creative muscles,” he says. “I love telling stories in unique ways, and the idea of creating a piece of art that truly resonates with people excites me.”
Despite his newfound fame, he stays grounded. “There are challenges that come with being in the public eye. It’s hard to live under constant scrutiny, but I chose this path, and I’m willing to handle it. I’ve learned to block out the noise and focus on the love, that’s been my mindset ever since.”

As he continues to make his mark, one thing is clear: Emmanuel Ankrah is on a trajectory to greatness. With a winning attitude, an unstoppable work ethic, and a passion for his craft, Drill is just getting started.
The world should pay attention, because he’s about to make some serious noise.
