From late-night bangers to sultry melodies that hit straight in the feels, Boi Chase is quickly proving he’s more than just another name on the scene, he’s a force. With the success of “Sneaky Link”, a track dripping with tension, secrecy, and irresistible vibes, the rising Afro-sensual artist is making waves across playlists and timelines. Signed to DMW, one of Nigeria’s most iconic labels, Boi Chase brings a sound that’s both daring and deeply emotional, a fusion of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, soulful storytelling, and smooth, seductive energy.
Top Charts Africa sat down with the breakout star to talk inspiration, industry lessons, dream collaborations, and what fans should expect next from the man behind the music.

TCA: Congrats on “Sneaky Link”! What inspired the track?
BOI CHASE: Thank you! Sneaky Link was inspired by real-life situations those late-night calls, the hidden flings, the thrill of doing something you’re not supposed to. It’s about secrecy, temptation, and that sweet tension that comes with a forbidden vibe. I just wanted to capture that raw emotion in a song.
TCA: How would you describe your sound to someone hearing you for the first time?
BOI CHASE: My sound is a blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, soulful melodies, and storytelling. It’s seductive, emotional, sometimes risky but always melodic. I like to call it Afro-sensual with a twist.
TCA: What was it like signing with DMW? How did that come about?
BOI CHASE: It still feels surreal. I grew up seeing what DMW meant to the culture, so to be part of that legacy is a blessing. It came naturally I dropped Focus, it went viral, and before I knew it, I was sitting down with the team. They saw the vision early, and we made it official.

TCA: What’s one lesson you’ve learned since joining the industry professionally?
BOI CHASE: Stay ready. Opportunities move fast, and the industry doesn’t wait. You have to be prepared mentally, creatively, and emotionally. Also, nothing beats staying true to your sound.
TCA: Tell us about the vibe and direction of the “Sneaky Link” music video.
BOI CHASE: We wanted it to feel like a short film. Cinematic, secretive, and intimate. The story builds slowly, I just like a real sneaky link situation and it pulls you into that world. You feel the tension, the chemistry.
TCA: Who are your biggest musical influences, both locally and internationally?
BOI CHASE: Locally definitely Wande Coal, Davido, and Burna. Internationally, I’d say John Michael Howell, Brent Faiyaz, and a bit of Justin Bieber’s pop sensibility. I love artists who make you feel something deep.
TCA: What do you want listeners to feel when they hear your music?
BOI CHASE: I want them to feel seen. Whether it’s love, lust, heartbreak, or joy I want my music to be that soundtrack they play in moments they can’t even explain.
TCA: How do you usually approach creating a new song, beat first or lyrics first?
BOI CHASE: Beat first, always. Once I hear the right chords or bounce, the story comes to me. Sometimes it’s just a word or a line that triggers the whole vibe.
TCA: What’s one dream collaboration you’d love to make happen?
BOI CHASE: Brent Faiyaz for sure. I feel like we’d make something dangerously smooth. And in Nigeria, Wande Coal. That one is personal.

TCA: What should fans expect next from Boi Chase? More singles? A project?
BOI CHASE: More music for sure, and I’m putting together a project. No date yet, but I’m curating it carefully. Expect more cinematic content, more vulnerable writingand definitely some unexpected collabs.
