Born with a deep love for storytelling, Wiseman grew up captivated by the moving images on his television screen, eager to understand the magic behind the box. That curiosity led him to study drama at the Tshwane University of Technology, where his raw talent was polished into undeniable artistry. His career took off like a dream, his first audition landing him the lead role in South Africa’s first-ever Xitsonga telenovela, an unprecedented feat for any young actor fresh out of school. But what could have been a fleeting moment of success instead became the foundation of a career that is now skyrocketing to new heights. Today, Wiseman Zitha is a name that resonates with excellence, hard work, and a touch of destiny.

In this exclusive cover story for Top Charts South Africa, where he makes history as the first man to grace the cover, Wiseman Zitha takes us on a journey through his career, his passion for film, and the unwavering faith that has carried him through it all. From his approach to acting and the challenges he has faced to his future aspirations and personal philosophy, one thing is certain: Wiseman is not just here to participate. He is here to take over.
For Wiseman, acting is a calling. “The love for storytelling and wanting to understand this box (TV) that I grew up watching as a kid,” he shares when asked what inspired him to pursue acting. His journey has been one of constant learning, rediscovery, and curiosity about human nature. Studying people, understanding their emotions, and bringing those intricacies to life on screen has become his signature. “I try to embrace everything that makes my character human,” he says, simply proof to the depth and authenticity he brings to every role.
Stepping into a new character requires more than just memorizing lines. For Wiseman, preparation is an intricate process that begins with research. “I try to get every little detail, his needs, wants, weaknesses and just embrace everything that makes him human,” he explains. But beyond that, there is an emotional and mental discipline that comes with the craft. “Lastly, I just try to forget myself in the moment,” he adds, underscoring the complete transformation he undergoes in his performances.
Wiseman’s early inspiration and meticulous approach to his roles reveal a natural drive to understand not only the characters he portrays but also the people behind every story.

What excites him most about working in the entertainment industry? “I think the collaboration part of it,” he says enthusiastically. “Having to work with amazing actors that you grew up watching on TV, amazing directors, talented crew and to finally sit down and watch the hard work that everyone has put together is exciting.” Wiseman understands that while actors often shine the brightest, the magic of filmmaking is a collective effort. “Honestly, it is a collaborative work,” he states.
While the entertainment industry is known for its demanding nature, Wiseman has managed to stay grounded, thanks to his unwavering faith and strong family support. “My family is my pillar. I have such an amazing support system. They keep me motivated and humble,” he shares. Avoiding unnecessary distractions, he focuses on his craft while maintaining a sense of balance. “I try to take it easy, stay away from trouble, and just focus on my work.”
When asked that it takes to thrive in today’s entertainment industry, he answers “You need to work on your craft all the time and be ready for anything,” . He lives by the principle that “an actor prepares,” emphasizing that readiness should be constant, not situational. “Auditions must find you ready,” he stresses. “So I’d say sharpen your craft, watch other actors and shows, get motivated, and ignite that passion.”
His insights on continuous preparation and self-belief illustrate a philosophy that extends beyond the screen. Wiseman’s commitment to honing his skills is matched by his ability to remain true to himself amid industry pressures.
In an industry as competitive as acting, maintaining creative energy is essential. Wiseman’s secret? Faith and self-assurance. “Comparison is the thief of joy,” he states firmly. “I always say whatever God said was for me will come and land in my hands because I am enough.” His belief that his purpose is divinely guided keeps him going. “If this is what God has called you to do, He will definitely sustain you.”

Some actors spend years waiting for their breakthrough, but Wiseman’s moment came early. “I always say I’m one of those lucky actors who got their first big break straight from varsity,” he reveals. “My first-ever audition was for a lead role in the first-ever Xitsonga telenovela in the history of television, and I got to play the lead.” That opportunity, landing a major role right before graduating was a defining moment that set the tone for everything that followed. “That changed everything for me because people got introduced to me as an actor from there.” he reflects.
As his career evolves, Wiseman is setting his sights on new challenges. “I am obsessed with films now,” he shares, thrilled about South Africa’s growing film industry.
“Maybe with guns and some amazing big stunt work. It would be nice.” He adds in response to a question about his dream role. “The universe must align and… more Netflix stuff, yes please!” he says with a laugh.
Speaking of Netflix, his most recent project, Blood Legacy, presented one of his biggest challenges yet. “Oh my goodness, working with such an amazing and talented cast. Wow!” he exclaims.
“Lungelo is Zulu, and I’m not Zulu, so I had to work a lot on the language.” For the first time in his career, Wiseman played a Zulu character on TV, and the response was overwhelming. “Most people were shocked because they probably haven’t heard me speak that language before,” he admits. “But that’s the beauty of what we do.”

Outside of acting, Wiseman finds joy in creating content and exploring nature. “I like to create content and show my creativity,” he shares. He also enjoys weekend getaways, safari trips, and unplugging from the digital world to recharge. “I switch off my phone to reboot.” Fitness is also a priority. “My body is my canvas; I have to take good care of it.”
Wiseman’s ultimate motivation is the impact he wants to leave behind. “I tell myself that I have to win in life and live a legacy,” he says. Coming from a small village, he wants to inspire the next generation. “I want other village boys and girls to be inspired by my story and to know they can achieve anything. I need to show them it is possible if you put in the work.”
When asked what we can expect from him in the coming years, Wiseman’s answer is simple yet powerful. “More shows, more jobs, more life. Just prepare to see the grace of God in my life.” His journey is far from over. In fact, it is only beginning.
For those looking to follow in his footsteps, Wiseman has one key piece of advice: “Go to school. Study this art that you are trying to get into. Know the basics and understand the industry because it can be overwhelming at times.” And above all? “Do it for the love of it, not for fame, because you won’t last if you do it for the fame.”
From his passion for storytelling to his faith in destiny, Wiseman Zitha is proving that he is a force to be reckoned with. And as the first man to cover Top Charts South Africa, he is making history while shaping the future.
