INTERVIEW

Interviewer: What inspired your journey into music, and how did you find your sound?

Dinycee: What inspired my journey into music goes back to my secondary school days when we’d freestyle in class. We used to drum on desks, make up songs that was where it all started. I found my sound by working consistently with the same producer from the start, which helped him understand my style of music. Shout out to my producer, Nameless.

Interviewer: How do your roots or background influence your music?

Dinycee: My roots influenced my music in many ways. Growing up, my mom would play old Igbo songs for me, and that really shaped the kind of sounds I’m drawn to now.

Interviewer: How do you stay inspired and avoid sounding like everyone else?

Dinycee: I stay inspired by believing in my craft and in my journey. I truly believe my style of music will take me worldwide and inspire generations to come.

Interviewer: Which African or global artists have had the biggest impact on your style?

Dinycee: Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, Gunna, Juice WRLD, Runtown, Wizkid, Rod Wave, and Lil Durk — those are the artists that have really impacted my sound and approach to music.

Interviewer: Let’s talk about your latest single, “Consistency.” What inspired the track, and how do you think it can impact your listeners?

Dinycee: “Consistency” was inspired by my journey in the music industry so far. It tells a story of how much I believe in hard work and showing up again and again. I believe this song will inspire and motivate listeners to stay on their path and keep pushing.

Interviewer: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an upcoming artist?

Dinycee: Finance. Funding is a big challenge for upcoming artists — without it, it’s hard to push your music to your target audience.

Interviewer: If you could collaborate with any African artist right now, who would it be and why?

Dinycee: Davido, for sure. A feature with him would take my career to its peak. I believe in my craft so much — all I need is the big audience to see what I have to offer and represent my country.

Interviewer: Do you feel pressure to represent your country or culture a certain way?

Dinycee: No, I don’t feel any pressure.

Interviewer: What’s one fun fact about you most people don’t know?

Dinycee: Most people don’t know I’m actually very funny in person.

Interviewer: What’s next for Dinycee?

Stay tuned more music is on the way, and I’m just getting started. The journey is real, and I’m ready for the world to hear it.
